Costco's Popular Mexican Sauce Is Back

Even shoppers' favorite Costco products are scrutinized. In February, members complained about the retailer's $4.99 rotisserie chickens'

"chemical" taste. Some Costco buyers have criticized the ingredient list in a new gyro meal package that other members have praised.

Concerned shoppers are now scrutinizing a popular sauce used on Mexican and other dishes.

This week, Reddit users celebrated the reintroduction of Don Pancho Cilantro Lime Crema, a creamy sauce blended with fresh cilantro, lime juice,

and sour cream. According to the Don Pancho website, Costco exclusively sells the two-pack item, which is only available periodically.

Many shoppers agree that the crema is good, but its shelf life difficulties overshadowed its comeback.

"It's delicious but use up the bottle quick!" one consumer said, adding that the product becomes "yucky" after a week or two in the fridge.

"I love this but I've found it expires way faster than the family can get through 2 bottles," another said.

Another advised freezing the bottle to leave room for its contents to expand. Don Pancho's website FAQs advise against freezing the sauce.

Shoppers suggested topping eggs, salmon, quesadillas, rice bowls, salads, and breakfast burritos with the sauce while it's in stock.
